Description
Wine from the village of Gratallops, DOQ Priorat, artisanal, produced with carignan grapes from our centennial vineyards. Yearly output: 300 bottles. A truly unique item.
The vinification process if fully artisanal, from the fermentation in barrels based on natural yeasts to the manual bottling after aging in fine-grained French Allier oak barrels.
A wine in which the carignan grape expresses itself to the fullest, with a surprising complexity of aromas and flavours in which mineral touches, spiced and slightly toasted, blend with the taste of candied almonds and aromatic herbs, evoking the scent of a typical ratafia liquor from Olot.
In mouth, the intense and dense flavour perfectly combines with its acidity, which makes the wine fresh and vigorous. The tannins are intense, polished, and they establish a balanced triangle with the acidity and alcohol, which gives this wine a robust structure, consistency, and easy drinkability.
The aftertaste is long, aromatic, and vigorous. This wine will refine after five years and can be stored for over a decade.
